This gets at something important in its description of Trump’s disdain for internationalism, but it doesn’t go far enough. Today, no major power truly supports internationalism. The order is dead. What will come next? via @NYTOpinion

Important issues at stake here. … I appreciate the opportunity to contribute my thoughts, which center on the critical role of power in stabilizing order so international law can thrive.
‘If sovereignty is transferred to 🇲🇺, it could create opportunities for 🇨🇳 to enhance its influence in the Indian Ocean Region, contributing to its broader #maritime and geopolitical ambitions,’ argues @h1llz, our Associate Fellow #ObservingChina #Tangram

My piece today in @ConGeostrategy's Observing China argues Britain should retain sovereignty over the Chagos Archipelago because in an increasingly unstable world geography matters more for the future of a liberal order than it has in decades.

Outstanding thread. He concludes: “I honestly cannot think of too many developments that could be more of a red flag for Taiwanese and US/allied defense planners that the PLA is making real its direction from Xi Jinping to have the capability to invade Taiwan by 2027.”
Many folks probably saw @CovertShores' recent find: that China is building multiple special vessels seemingly intended to transfer vehicles ashore in support of a PRC invasion of Taiwan. What follows is an update, based on high-res imagery I've acquired:

Then Norwegians are quite serious about the possibility of having to defend themselves from Russia.
The reestablished practice of pre requisitioning is expanding. Today, 14 000 Norwegians got a message that their vehicle, boat, equipment or property is to be handed over to the Armed Forces in wartime. The numbers for 2022 and 2023 were around 4000.
