🧑‍🎓@QuilibriumInc Academy Lesson 1 TL;DR: Quilibrium, founded by ex-Coinbase developer Cassie Heart, is layer 1 platform, similar to Bitcoin and Ethereum, but uses new (novel) technology. Q's approach focuses on parallelism and scalability, overcoming the bottlenecks of a linear blockchains, and is better suited for decentralized apps, #AI models, and multi-party interactions. Censorship and data security are hot topics in this digital age. You don't have to scroll far on X to see a post from @elonmusk and many others talking about this. This is a common narrative in the crypto space, and Q founder @cass_on_mars went a step further to declare the Internet, as we know it, dead. Why do I have so much faith in @QuilibriumInc? Where do I start... For me, Quilibrium represents a return to the Cypherpunk movement that started it all. Freedom and privacy above all, governed by a law of code. Bitcoin brought us decentralized value transfer. Ethereum brought us decentralized financial applications. Quilibrium now brings us a decentralized framework for all applications. I've watched the crypto scene deteriorate in many ways over the past few years. While there is still innovation happening, we've largely lost our way. At least the rug pulls of the Ethereum ICO era tried to cover it up. Nowadays we have people grifting in plain sight, without even the slightest attempt to hide it. Projects that showed promise last cycle are desperately trying to stay relevant by chasing narratives such as AI and DePIN. Founders are adding layers of complication to their ecosystem or launching new tokens to extract every bit of value they can while they are still relevant. But then we have this quiet little project called Quilibrium, with founder @cass_on_mars who has poured 7+ years into building a network that stands in defiance of all the bullshit I just described. It is a true return to the Cypherpunk era that brought us Bitcoin-- a network with proven performance that is unapologetically private. One built on a thesis of consumer crypto not unlike the approach responsible for Apple's success. Quilibrium is not a blockchain and is thus not bound by its constraints. It is a novel layer 1 network that uses an oblivious sharded hypergraph to obtain insane, real world performance (millions of transactions per second) with a high degree of parallelism. With this level of scalability, and APIs and programming languages that developers are used to, Quilibrium offers a real opportunity to reinvent the Internet-- one that is private from the ground up. People often say to bet on founders, not tokens. There is a lot of truth in that. A lot of projects never make it through even one bear market. If there was ever a project/founder that is in it for the long haul, it's Cassie. She will make this happen... not if, but when. Protocol v2.1 is around the corner, and with it, the doors open to developers to start releasing their applications into production. We got a taste of that already through Quilibrium Inc's Quorum group messenger. That app has been out barely a month and we're already seeing growth and community contributions that show a very bright future for this crypto-focused Discord alternative. And this is only the beginning. That one app offers more utility than 99% of the projects out there today, including many in the top 100. What do you think will happen when there are 10 apps? 50 apps? 1,000 apps? All of this is easily achievable on a scalable network designed to reinvent the Internet. No layer 2 bullshit. No centralized compromises. That all said, no project is without its faults. Quilibrium has had some growing pains, but the community is strong and continues to grow stronger each day. More importantly, the development team is humble, agile, and handles challenges with grace. For Cassie, it is the mission above all. No VCs to cater to, no ticking timebomb where funding runs out. Just a steady stream of innovation toward an ambitious goal. Once again... not IF but WHEN. So why do I have faith in Quilibrium? Because Q is freedom. Q is a new, better Internet.
