I daresay there are plenty of people who wouldn't be too happy if all of their private communications (whatsapp messages, telephone calls, private conversations) were revealed to the public.

But I wouldn't consider the average journalist to be particularly honest or diligent, either! And I maintain they are afforded a disproportionate level of influence.
