New AI Snake Oil essay with @ang3linawang, @sayashk, and @s010n — we analyze the UK's liver transplant matching algorithm that's been reported to make it nearly impossible for patients under 45 to get a liver. In this thread I'll summarize what we learned.

@AndrewYNg I normally just say: move fast and fix things. Ie, as startups scale things break: whatever worked before, anything really, building software, hiring, collecting feedback from users, team dynamics, etc, they break with exponential growth. So we need to move fast and fix things

📣 Excited to share our latest preprint, where we investigate LLM hallucinations in multi-document summarization tasks. We reveal systematic hallucinatory behaviors across 5 popular LLMs. Check out the paper at We'd love to hear your feedback! 😄

If an existing AML system is already in place, our method can identify its weaknesses and training a complementary detection system to protect against such attacks.

When it was said that "AI is eating the world" I didn't think the Nobel prizes were on the menu! 😛🍴 Two AI-related Nobel prizes already this year and we didn't even get yet to Literature, which is maybe even more of a fertile ground for AI/LLM-powered systems to shine. 🙂

@CtrlAltDwayne @levelsio Obviously incorrect. Lots of people grind in the EU. The # of holidays has nothing to do why Europe has much less innovation. @levelsio Not every EU entrepreneur moves (maybe some stubborn ones stay in EU for whatever reasons), but you are right, higher taxes *and* lots of tax special laws that hurt startups, fragmented markets, higher regulations, make the choice to stay in EU hard.
