A Gazan produce seller refused to pay Hamas protection money. So they beat him, jailed him, and threatened to kill him — forcing him to flee from his home.
His family hasn't heard from him since.

"The first time I went to jail I thought, 'I don’t belong here.' But now I understand that their jail is full of honorable people. Anyone who tries to think for himself winds up there."

Palestinians in the West who support Hamas are free to say so. As to the many who don't, if they speak out against Hamas, their relatives in Gaza face prison or worse.

It is highly disturbing that Shaikh Mohamad Mushtaha was arrested in the midst of this conflict. I demand that the government of Gaza to free him right away and without any conditions .
This Hamas operative wants you to know that food is cheap and plentiful in Gaza. For him, “this is how we'll win the war.”
For the rest of us, it’s a stunning acknowledgment that aid is flowing and prior claims of famine are a lie.

“Pro-Palestine” protesters across the world laud Hamas as “resistance.”
But Palestinians who actually live under Hamas detest them — for stealing aid money and dragging Gaza into endless wars.
“They exploit us under the pretext of 'resistance'.”
We’ve connected anti-Hamas Gazans to lawmakers in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Testifying to Hamas-UNRWA collusion, Gazans asked gov’ts to reduce UNRWA funding and back pilot projects for non-Hamas aid distribution and self-rule.
