While many may see this as a stretch for $ASTS, to say the least, I don’t. I’ve been thinking along the same lines, albeit precise timing is always hard to peg. I’m not big on price targets either (get asked this all the time about IonQ et al). But, importantly, here we already have a legitimate comp in Starlink, with a current value of $228B, with clearly inferior technology and significantly less global coverage than ASTS. There are other factors, of course, that come into play, but this definitely offers a ballpark guide as to what ASTS can achieve in terms of its valuation. And markets love to peg off comps, and will discount future growth prospects 6-12 months ahead of time. Also, most institutional investors are not aware of or up to speed on ASTS, likely due to the Musk effect. But this has created a very unique opportunity. For what it’s worth, I think ASTS is one of the most undervalued companies I’ve seen in my investment career.
