I worked for a university computer department in 82 and was writing code for two digit years. I made the remark that we would have a problem in the year 2000 and the answer was we will have changed the code 5 times by then. Well, I made contact with my old boss around 2001 and the code was never changed. They had to touch all the programs. My current boss gave me a bonus to stay through 2000 in case we had problems.
