@timstarr2001 Having to pay American wages is what driving these jobs overseas. The American worker should not have to compete with slave wages around the entire world. They can and should be protected.

Economists in the 80s said that free trade wouldn’t lead to offshoring and that manufacturing would be fine. There’s also the national security threat of losing that capability. Tariffs do work in that sense. We have used tariffs to get companies like Nissan, Toyota, and Honda to manufacture in our country. John Deere has also decided against not moving to Mexico due to threats of tariffs. They do work and should be implemented strategically.

I don’t know who needs to hear this but, being anti-Churchill and ant-Soviet Union does not mean you love Hitler.
Churchill bad, Hitler not so bad is an insane proposition. And hearing it from people who I used to have the utmost respect for makes me question everything including my own beliefs. It’s good to be able to question yourself and it’s good to be able to listen to other points of view to help bring clarity at a time when confusion seems to be the end goal. There have been many lies, told to the American people and to people all over the world. But not everything is a lie. Not everything needs to be dismantled. Not every piece of history needs to be rewritten. Churchill is still good. Hitler will always be bad. The sun will rise tomorrow. And the sky will still be blue. Yes, we are rightfully upset about what has been done to this country. We are rightfully upset by the total insanity that we have seen around us. We are rightfully upset that western civilization has been systematically attacked from within. The way to deal with that is by being engaged and active and working towards advancing positive policy that will make the American people safe and prosperous and happy. The solution is not to be so jaded that you want to tear down the very thing you are mad didn’t live up to its own ideals. It’s pretty easy to see that on one extreme you have people who want to dismantle western civilization, and capitalism and everything that it stands for because they hate what it stands for. But on the other extreme, we’re starting to see a group of people who want to dismantle western civilization, and everything it stands for because it failed to live up to everything it was supposed to stand for. Both of those approaches are extreme, and neither of them are the answer. The answer is to keep fighting for liberty and justice and freedom, and all of the things this country was founded upon. On both ends of the spectrum there is tyranny and authoritarianism. One is just an overcorrection for the other. And it’s really important for people to remember that since we live in an age where you’re constantly bombarded with sensationalism. Sadly, I don’t see enough people talking about it, but that’s not going stop me from giving my opinion. Whether it’s popular or not.

@JoelWBerry Point 3 is entirely wrong. Different groups are different. And that’s ok. This would have been common sense to anyone pre 1960s but here we are I guess.
