After an incredible 5.5 years (nearly 2,000 days!) at @Binance as Marketing Lead, it’s time for me to say GOODBYE. People often asked me: “How did you stay there so long?” My response: “I’m either too stupid or too smart. You decide.” 😉 I joined in mid-2019, back when DeFi was dominated by Bancor alone, perps trading thrived only on BitMex, and community & localization were barely on anyone’s radar. Together, we built the template people grew to love completely from scratch. I’ve witnessed the highs and navigated the lows, and every moment taught me something invaluable. Few Web3 companies have thrived through multiple cycles, and it’s undeniable that @Binance has shaped the crypto industry into its current leader. I’m beyond grateful to @cz_binance, @heyibinance, @_RichardTeng, @RachelConlan and the entire Binance family for this once-in-a-lifetime journey. 🙏 To my team, alumni, angels, and everyone who’s been part of this incredible ride: THANK YOU! Your passion and trust have been my driving force every single day. Binance will forever hold a special place in my heart, and I’ll carry these memories — everything I’ve learned and achieved — as I embark on my next chapter. 5 Hiring Mistakes That Can Cost You the Job or the Best Candidate! Over the past 5 years, I’ve conducted more than 500 interviews. Here are key mistakes made by both companies and candidates during the hiring process. 1. Skimming resumes - For companies: give recruiters clear instructions on what to prioritize in applications and optimize JD. - For candidates: HR spends less than a minute reviewing your resume. Keep your resume concise and focused. Use a strong opening to capture attention. 2. No test assessments - Companies: don’t hesitate to introduce tests early in the process. It quickly filters out unqualified candidates. - Candidates: if asked to do an assessment, complete it. It’s your chance to demonstrate your skills. 3. No social media screening - Companies: a simple social media check can reveal red flags and help gauge cultural fit. - Candidates: maintain a professional online presence—recruiters may check it. 4. Ignoring cultural differences - Companies: learn to navigate cross-cultural communication, especially if hiring globally. - Candidates: show adaptability and awareness of different company cultures. 5. Narrow talent searches - For employers: broaden your search—there’s strong talent worldwide. In my experience, some of the hardest-working employees come from Ireland, Ukraine, and Vietnam. - For candidates: apply to companies outside your local market for more opportunities. Companies often focus on limited regions. Bonus advice: Large corporations often prioritize cost optimization and may prefer hiring a cheaper intern over an experienced professional. If you didn’t receive an offer, don’t take it personally—it’s not always about your qualifications. To increase your chances, engage in conversations with multiple companies simultaneously. Don’t waste time waiting on a single response. Keep moving forward.
