Maybe some people (clients) don’t understand: artists raise their prices to get less work. The fact that not everyone can afford it is kind of the point! We have limited time, limited stamina. Even though it would be fun to imagine doing All The Projects! it’s not realistic.

Probably gonna regret saying anything but maybe artists shouldn’t be accepting payment upfront for any work that can’t be completed within 180 days (refund window).
If the project is longer maybe it would be worthwhile to set up milestones to be paid upfront each checkpoint.

😭 before this starts discourse, it’s not that deep. If you provide this service to your commissioners that’s great! I would also send files if I had them. But to expect artists to be responsible for work that ended months, years ago is not a realistic expectation. That’s all!

I’m not on VGen yet, but I’m just curious- from what I’ve heard it sounds like they’re running a marketplace. Which means that they advertise you to a client base within their own site. (You’d be able to get work without doing external advertising?) ~5% is pretty decent/low-

QQ I feel like there’s commission discourse every day on Twitter… I’m afraid to disappoint people who expressed interest in my commissions, but they will likely start at $1k USD I’m not sure I can dedicate the time to work for less and still deliver art that I’m proud of 👉👈
