Yesterday I got stuck on a snowy road w/other cars blocked by a jackknifed truck-so like my Kham traveling days that it made me positively cheerful. Walked up & down the line socializing w my instant village for the hour it took to clear.

I've just posted a thread on KhamAid's cultural heritage work in #Tibet that received major funding from #USAID. It made a big difference for survival of traditional Tibetan #architecture.

A group of black and white tufted ducks recently visited the Xiamen Horticulture Expo Garden in Xiamen, Fujian province. They spent their time foraging and frolicking in the water, occasionally flapping their wings to make splashes. #Wildlife

KhamAid did some really impactful work with #USAID funds, such as a construction skills training program for Tibetan herders. We timed it well: their newly acquired skills were much in demand afterwards, earning them high wages. The full story is told in my recent book.
