! I’m a vis dev artist and illustrator, having worked at Walt Disney Animation, DreamWorks, Nickelodeon, and Magic the Gathering, but my passion for art is kept alive by painting moments from long gone worlds 🦖
I read a while back how dromaeosaur claws might have helped their young especially clamber around in trees, and wanted to explore that idea in a painting! It's a pretty wide image, so make sure to click to see the whole thing!

Colombian artist currently working on visual development for a DreamWorks feature! I’m going to be available for full time work in the Spring and would love to join projects earlier on in development and with lots of research, world building, and exploration needed!
I’ve found some pretty cool artists through the tag, so I’m happy to say I fall into the

Buenas! Originally from Colombia 🇨🇴, I'm currently working as a visual development artist on a feature film for DreamWorks. In my free time, I like painting ruins, spooky scenes, and most of all, dinosaurs.

I realize a lot of people on here follow me for the dinosaurs. To say I feel grateful is an understatement- paleoart got me into art, and now that I’m working in animation, it’s what keeps me going. Immensely thankful this work resonates with so many of you, too!

Sad to say the layoffs at Disney affected my role. I’m on the lookout now for new work in visual development for series and feature projects, as well as freelance in development, BG paint, illustration, and even paleoart if you need some dinosaurs!

I’m a Colombian visual development artist, currently working on a film with Paramount Animation! In my free time, I like painting landscapes, abandoned spaces, and of course, dinosaurs 🦕

Originally from Colombia, I’m currently a visual development artist at Walt Disney Animation Studios! Outside of work, I love painting the ruins of imagined worlds, and going back to my first artistic interest: paleoart!
Homework painting for that visual development class (aka what I did this weekend). I love abandoned structures, sunsets, and spooky little creatures, so this was very much an exercise in taking an assignment brief and making it my own!

Finished this painting I started when I was lucky enough to take a class with

A speculative scene where several adult T. rex are cooperating to take down an Alamosaurus. The two species’ range not just overlapped, but tyrannosaur teeth have even been found with Alamosaurus bones. Plus it’s just fun to paint these two giants 🦕 🦖 🦖 🦖

Currently doing visual development on a DreamWorks feature, I'm a Colombian artist with a love for illustration, environment design, and of course, paleoart. Available for full-time in the next few months; would be stoked to join a project early in development!
Been working on this for a bit, but finally happy to call it done! Painting inspired by Andean civilizations and the idea of what an Andean inspired fantasy world might look like. Also including close ups, and some process steps in the thread!

I'm a Colombian artist in animation, wrapping on a feature film with Paramount and available early August. Experience with vis dev paintings, set design, color keys, prop design, surfacing, and I'm told I'm fun in meetings~ Website link in the comments!
Dug up this painting to use as lighting ref for something I'm working on-this is still my favorite painting I've made! There was a pretty sturdy fence between the gator and me, so we were both pretty chill for the hour and a half I was painting. Done in gouache!

I’m an artist from Colombia, happily in feature animation @ Paramount! I’ve also contributed to projects like Star Trek: Lower Decks, Critical Role: LVM, some NDA work for Epic Games, and other jobs ranging from tabletop games to paleoart. 🧳
A thank you/goodbye painting for everyone I was working with at Titmouse. It’s humbling that people were willing to take a chance on me despite being a newcomer, and I hope to pay that forward. On an exciting note, I’m now a visual development artist at Paramount Animation!
Lost Caverns of Ixalan is out today! Here’s the front and back I got to illustrate for the swamp card from the tie- in Jurassic Park set. Huge thanks to AD Vic Ochoa for bringing me on and for his guidance on these paintings!
My contribution for the 2023 Animation Guild calendar! Catch this Ceratosaurus chilling as May’s artwork. Honored to have a piece in the calendar, and honored as well to belong to such an excellent union!
Citipati dad and chicks out for a stroll! Acrylic is proving to be amazing for these sorts of illustrations and the kind of textural quality I want in my personal work.

Looking for suggestions of prehistoric animals to paint! I loved hearing ideas a while back on what species to depict, as I’m way too indecisive myself!
A painting inspired by hiking along a rocky beach at lowtide~ Excited to say as well that I was invited by the cool people at West Studio so record my process video, which they were kind enough to edit into something viewable! I'll link in the first comment.
I wanted to share all my

, I’m actually planning on showing some species that humans saw alive. So while they’re not dinosaurs, I think Thylacines are pretty neat~
A few older dinosaur paintings. When I paint these animals I try to depict them exactly as that- animals existing within a time and place, showing speculative behaviors that help convey that they once lived and interacted with the world and were as tangible as any wildlife.

Lookin’ gorgeous at sunset with Gorgosaurus. An attempt to at least carve out a little bit of time this month for Dinovember, and to make a piece playing with very designed lighting! Some process steps in the thread as well!

I’m a Colombian visual development artist for animation currently over at Nickelodeon, but in my free time I love illustrating scenes of life from prehistory!
I’ve been making little thumbnails in crayon and color pencil after work in my sketchbook. Making more tactile art and with such low commitment materials has honestly been something I’ve been finding really centering in the midst of these hazy days in CA
Absolutely loved

Sunny moment from a current visual development class project! Exploring a story set on Maui for the term. Although I’ve never visited, from what I can see, the lighting and colors feel similar to parts of Colombia; especially in the more forested and humid mountains.

Local freak discovers the joys of arson. A speculative painting inspired by how some modern birds will spread active fires to flush out prey, and extending that idea to azhdarchids like Quetzalcoatlus and possible hunting strategies. Also included the early initial color rough!
Some older work- been a minute since I pushed saturation this much, so shout out to whoever made this tag to remind me to have more fun with colors again

Growing up, shows like “Walking w/Dinosaurs” blew my tiny mind. The way things were filmed, where you felt as though you were just an observer in the scene, has shaped my own sense of composition. Plus, dinosaurs are cool 🦕

Territorial dispute between two T.rex gets ugly-inspired by fossil evidence showing these animals often fought among themselves, and imagining how insane those clashes must have been!

Some color compositions exploring different times of day at a fruit stand. These were homework for a visual development course I’m currently taking- it’s tough making the time for this each week but I’m really learning how to be more efficient with workflow!
Real quick, it’s a Douglas Henderson appreciation thread. For me, his work shows prehistoric life- not just reconstructions of ancient organisms but vignettes that feel like frames from documentaries filmed in these eras. A true master, and someone whose art will forever awe me.
Tlatolophus in acrylic to start out the new year! Including some process shots for this one as well-I had a pretty clear idea of the lighting and general colors I wanted, so I jumped into painting without a rough and just problem solved along the way.
Wrapping up my first week as a visual development artist at Walt Disney Animation Studios! I’m immensely grateful to everyone who’s helped me feel welcome, and I’m truly honored to be here!

I’m a Colombian artist with experience on projects for Nick, Disney Feature, DreamWorks, Magic the Gathering, and others. Dinosaurs and haunted spaces tend to be subjects to which I always return!
Ashlyn and I recently celebrated our sixth anniversary together! We have a tradition of making paintings for each other, and I wanted to depict a moment where we’re doing what we love- sketching out in nature and spotting local wildlife 🐿️
Some recent stylized dinosaurs, made as birthday gifts for various friends! Drawing dinosaurs is what got me into art many years ago, and now that I work in animation, I love taking the time to indulge in my favorite subject matter!

I’ve had the good fortune to work on animated films for Disney Feature, DreamWorks, & Paramount. On the game side, I’ve done concept work for Psyonix, and most recently illustrations for Magic: The Gathering. Always happy to talk freelance for cool projects!

Again, for men in the animation industry- when an established guy shows himself to be shitty towards women, really the best step’s to condemn that behavior and call it out when we see other men echoing it. And as always, please don’t accept apologies that aren’t for you~
Twitter cropping might fry this, but here are some outdoor painting studies I’ve been making over the last few weeks! Painting outside is legitimately my favorite pastime with art, and getting back into it helps me still carve out a space for art to just be relaxing!
2020 was...a lot, but I’m happy to finally be making art that truly feels personal to me. Honored as well to have been invited onto so many projects; this was my first year in the animation industry and I thank everyone who’s made me feel so welcome! Here are some personal paints
