Damn, jeanue seems to be maaaad his time is coming to an end after 3 years.
Our Discord server just got raided by 100+ bots within a few seconds, all spamming members in DMs.
The wave was contained and all bots banned, in case anyone was mistakenly banned, reach out to us

Titanfall 1 is currently working and it turns out Respawn has actually updated the servers one week ago.
It is amazing message as they were never touched since 2015. However certainly not everything was fixed, so we can only hope the hacker doesn't find the other things meanwhile

Seems to be one of the media lost to time, as I don't even see any mention of it on the oldest of their website...

As for the latest version, after some basic reversing I currently have no clue why the key is ignored, so just keep using the old version for now until they force us to figure out something new ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The in-game player counter for Titanfall 1 is broken.
Despite that, the game is currently playable and there are in fact players on the servers!

So apparently even if you buy a cd-key for Titanfall (non-Deluxe Edition), you now still cannot play online on all playlists but campaign, because they blocked the obligatory DLC downloads too.

These will block auto-updates and let you stay on the last working versions, it's not like EA adds any new features to Origin anymore anyways.
If you did this correctly, then Origin will start up not asking for updates (you can confirm the app version in Help -> About)

In other words, the attacker is back and Titanfall 1 is down again...
People in-game got crashed and people get "No servers found". I'm curious what has changed in the update, but I didn't manage to find that out in time :/

Respawn did not implement fixes from my article, at least in Titanfall 1. The last server update was on July 16th, my article was published on July 27th. I'm seeing reports of the very vulnerabilities I told them how to fix still abused in the game.

If that doesn't work, it's possible you have some lingering update downloaded already, which means you gotta go to "%localappdata%\Origin" and delete the "ThinSetup" folder (just press Win+R and copy-paste the above location there most easily)

All right, before the servers got attacked again, I noticed something new. It seems that my old-gen bots now get dropped with a message of "Corrupt network message", despite that string being missing from the DLLs, which suggests this is a change implemented in the update

I wonder if it'd possible to restore this very old Origin 9.x version to working state, it used to be like 10x more lightweight than current one.
Btw I do have a solution for current Origin update, that involves downgrade and blocking out future upgrades, will share later

Another change that I noticed is that Stryder now will more aggressively throw players into different regions for games. It used to consider worldwide search after ~3 minutes. I think something in between would be a better choice, but not searching on another continent right away

Most of the playerbase is new players, and most of them come from Origin Access, most don't pay the full ridiculous price.

Taking those away will move the population below the threshold of playability and very quickly effectively kill this game.

However the pool of empty servers for private lobbies (type 0) could be global. It doesn't matter where on the world do you get thrown into a lobby server, since the server and Stryder are still aware of your datacenter preference for actual matchmaking game searches

Well, this mode has much increased health so far and titans can only be unlocked at the end of the tech tree upgrades. When you first spawn you can’t even double jump, makes navigating the maps at first pretty interesting

4. DLC ownership on Origin is verified SERVER-SIDE, that means, as far as tests go, this limitation cannot be overcame
5. A patch is possible to play on DLC playlists without DLCs, but you will get kicked once any DLC map is loaded (still better than not playing at all I guess?)
