I don’t usually share personal stuff, but I feel like I need to share this one. My 91 year old father passed away yesterday after an amazing recovery from Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and >50 years as a practising GP. He was still doing his CPD whilst in hospital with pneumonia.

I’m not sure there is any point in having TVs in public hospitals. They take up precious space, everybody is on their phones anyway, and free WiFi is so much easier to deliver.

Dilated LA/LV with barely any contractility. Thrombus in both ventricles, and all it takes is one ectopic to shake some loose from the LV. Glad I’m not the vascular surgeon on call asked to fish that clot out of wherever it ended up.

Sadly he passed away in December 2014 with pneumonia. RIP Keith.
