Things I need to look into after
#LaraconUS
:
- pest
- flux
- event sourcing/verbs
- Laravel Cloud
- getting back into Octane
- FrankenPHP
- livewire
- whatever else I am forgetting
Yeesh! This community is cooking 🔥🔥
👀Crafted a very quick and crude
#laravel
package this afternoon that adds a command to list schemas from your default database connection:
Need support for PostgreSQL if you want to help!

Incredible how many people see a tweet like this, don't bother verifying, and then start sharing that false information. Took 10 seconds to click the link and read the first paragraph.
@benawad
One thing I keep seeing with people who prefer Vue is: "I don't want my JS beside my template".
What they don't realize is that JSX is NOT a template. There's so much more power built in to JSX over templates that I can gets lost on a lot of people.
It’s insane that you can build a project for $0 and scale infinitely for cheap. We’re talking tens of thousands of users for dollars a month
Deployment:
@vercel
- first 1 MILLION edge requests free, next 1m $0.65
DB:
@planetscaledata
- mysql for modern devs, $1 per BILLION row
@benawad
"I have an idea for an app. It's a sure thing. It will definitely take off, but I just need someone to build it for me.
I can't pay you any real money, but you can have 25% of all future revenue. Like I said man, it's a sure thing. Think MILLIONS 🤑🤑🤑"
👋 Is there anyone out there that knows
#VueJS
and wants to learn
#ReactJS
?
I have a 15 page PDF to accompany a video series that I'd love to get feedback on.
Targeting devs that already know a frontend framework and want to learn React.
Reply or DM and I'll send you the PDF!
I had 30 minutes this morning before a doctor appointment. Figured I'd get started on a media upload/library component for my course platform.
Got a MVP working and built with ease thanks to
@laravelphp
@inertiajs
and
@reactjs
Twitter is turning into:
Me: Chocolate milk is better than white milk.
Someone: OMG! How could you attack me like that? Chocolate milk hurts my stomach 🤮

Hey
@filamentphp
users, if I wanted to make a page of settings in my app (not tied to any specific resource), what should I be doing?
Do I make a custom page in my panel and then add a form to a Livewire component via this?
Been using
@calebporzio
's
@LivewireLaravel
this evening on a new app.
I think I've been converted. 😍
Only hiccup so far has been with debugging and most of my problems have been my fault.
+1 would use again
Used
@calebporzio
's Alpine.js instead of Algolia's instantsearch.js for the search component on my blog.
Took production JS build from 220kb to 27kb, with the exact same functionality.
Released is launching today!!

Don’t have an issue with falling asleep after coding.
Definitely have a problem with being able to walk away from the computer when I’m struggling to solve a problem. Seems to be worse the later it gets in the night.

Tonight’s topic is… developer sleep hygiene
- Overall, has software development/coding impacted your sleep?
- How often do you feel too wired to rest after coding?
- Any tips or resources for sleepless/sleepy developers?

Same. I'm mostly back to using the `function` keyword for functions unless there's an actual benefit of using an arrow function
@holtbt
@Google
I don't understand the concern. The emails they scrape are on their servers. All they're doing is categorizing your emails and reformatting them for you.
If they listed a purchase that went to an email address outside of Google, that would be concerning.
😌 Just finished editing my longest video yet, 17 mins to build this search drop down using

Keyboard navigation and all!

I've been working on replacing my personal site (Laravel/blade, 100% custom) with a Nuxt site using one of their UI Pro templates.
It's been hard to understand why someone would want to choose Nuxt over Laravel for a static/content site.
📺 The first episode of a weekly Dev Update series I am starting is now live on YouTube!
It's a bit longer than I expected, but I run through the current status of both RemoteAuth and Released!
Let me know what you think 👇
I’m going to compile a list of things you can do in VS Code that people think are not possible.
If you use an IDE other than VS Code, what features does your IDE do that you think VS Code can’t do?
Please include examples and/or screenshots!

Day 1 recap, building Calenderio:
- Continue on mind map for idea exploration and plan
- Domain name has been purchased
- Reviewing test coverage for MVP progress thus far
It is time we move on from CRUD (resource-based) naming convention for
#Laravel
projects.
Single action controllers and a VerbSubjectType naming pattern will make your project easier to navigate.
This is why I am bullish on
@hybridlydev
- Run into a small problem at 8:45am
- Submit a PR at 10:30am
- PR is merged and a new release is cut by 12:40pm
So nice to have an active maintainer in
@enzoinnocenzi
that is willing to work with the community!
Okay this is getting a lot of attention.
If you are actually interested, reply with your portfolio link for web app UI/UX work. Not interested in graphics or logos, etc. We need a designer to build custom application UI.
Day 17 recap:
I GOT MY FIRST SALE (actually 2) AND OFFICIAL FIRST DOLLAR EARNED FROM A PRODUCT I CREATED!
Shout out
@joshmanders
and
@sagalbot
for their support. Both have been giving great insight and feedback as first customers. 🎉

🤯 Someone signed up for Calenderio last night while I was sleeping. They immediately paid (yearly) for the lower tier.
Then about 30 mins after signing up they email and ask to upgrade to the higher tier!
THEN, I ask out of curiosity how they found Calenderio...
11+ years ago
@owenconti
and I rounded up some fellow students and tried to start an agency. I don't think we made it past our first meeting.
2 years ago, I quit my job to pursue that original goal.
Now we're ready to bring on some more devs!
This is by far my most popular tweet and it all spawned from a two second thought I had after submitting the Laravel survey.
But the real catalyst?
@aarondfrancis
was the first person to like it. I swear that sparked it.

This trend of podcasts starting with a sound clip from within the episode is really annoying.
Just start the damn episode with the intro or even better, drop the intro and start talking.
I built this Tailwind modifier helper last year and I keep coming back to it because it involves much less typing.
What do you think? Would you use it?
