Anno exposes Gainax. Apparently, they had struggled for a long time, and Anno saw the writing on the wall and left. Gainax kept borrowing money from the man. He agreed in exchange for the rights to FLCL & Gunbuster, but they duped him and moved the rights to a shell company.

@KHolosimp This does also seem like a convenient way to deflect blame. Maybe a bully is singled out as the source of Selen's trauma, gets ousted as well, and people return to a neutral position toward the company itself when their anger runs out.

I follow you, but that doesn't mean I agree or endorse most the crazy stuff you say. If association is all that we need to assume guilt, no one would ever interact with anyone controversial. Is that what you want?.
Of the fewer than 600 people Pewds follows on Twitter, among them are Paul Joseph Watson, Stefan Molyneaux, and Lauren fucking Southern, three blatant white nationalists, but sure, he's wholly innocent in this. Heart goes out to all my Islamic followers right now <3.

@PedanticRomantc @G0ffThew This is a strawman. Complain about idiots not thinking their terminology through, sure. When people complain about games being political, they're not making some statement on the broad metaphysical ramifications. You know that. This is nitpicking to make them look bad.

A seizure prevented me from addressing it at the time, but I want to talk about the uproar around @Vox_Akuma about two months back. The circumstances are unfortunately common, but he responded in a unique fashion, with unique consequences, it's a riveting case. A long 🧵

@Digibrah As Digi continues his descent into madness, I can't help but feel nostalgic. I think every hardcore fan has had a phase like this, of disillusionment toward the current state and longing for some lost golden age of anime. Because the grass is always greener on the other side.

@moricalliope Coco, Towa, Mel, Rushia now. Hololive has a long history of throwing talent under the bus to quell the raging fans, because ultimately the talents are just tools for them to extract money. Neither the mental health and livelihood of the talent nor the audience matter to them.

@KHolosimp Companies will eat shit when there's a tangible decrease to the quality of their product. Selen had a huge fanbase and was one of Niji EN's most popular talents, the loss of her will have a much greater impact than outcry, which is honestly not that hard to recover from.

@Digibrah I'm just going to make a little counter to Digi's issues with Yorimoi. Digi can have his own preferences as to what to enjoy - if he likes realism and subtlety, that's fine. But Yorimoi's dramatized, externalized, heavy-handed approach isn't in and of itself "wrong" or anything.

@Digibrah A show like SAO is a miracle. It breaks every single facet of good storytelling. It's a terrible, terrible show. Yet it makes gabzillions of yen. That's not something to scoff at. That's something to explore! How did it succeed in spite of everything being against it?
