For students exploring grad school options, Professor Diaz is growing her new group at CU Boulder. Great chance to work with and be mentored by a productive and inspiring geochemist.
Lastly, I need to recruit some wonderful scientists for my group (MS, PhD, Postdoc)! #GRFP and #nsfpostdoc applications are due soon. Reach out if youβre interested in polar geochem, analogs, urban geochem, env. justice, and everything in between π

I am excited to share some of our group's research on stream-groundwater mixing and biogeochemical processes tomorrow. Thank you @LiReactiveWater and Ellen Wohl for coordinating the Women Advancing River Research seminar series.
Our upcoming WARR seminar features Prof. Audrey Sawyer @osuwaterissues from @OhioState. She will talk about morphology + microbe + metals in the beautiful East River at Colorado @eesalbnl @BerkeleyLab. Register here:

@sinensetin @StemTrans Our IRB approval is only for domestic participants, unfortunately, but hopefully this is just the first step! @barite_brandon @paleomanyte

I'm super late to repost this, but @RiverChem makes mighty good hydro-cakes! It was fun getting our research groups together last week.
Had lab group start-of-summer celebration with @osuwaterissues's group and needed a cake of our research projects. So we have (1) an AMD stream with a beaver pond, (2) SW-GW interactions, and (3) a tracer study in an ag field, all draining into (4) an algal bloom lake.

@RiverChem This hits close to home. Just had our first lab-cleanout of the year today. It all looks so good now. Our archaeology team unearthed many pre-pandemic boxes in the dig.

Today was my last day of class for the semester and #earthday too. We celebrated with some #jenisicecreams. Thanks to all our students and co-instructor Professor Liz Griffith for a stimulating and fun grad seminar discussing society+STEM issues. @osuearthscience

Our new review paper is out on nutrient discharge to the global coastline via groundwater. Collaborators include @Barefoot_Lab @sugiryo0710 @ValentiRodellas @BioGeoSte @nilsmoosdorf @Coastal_Dimova @mc_hajati
Submarine groundwater discharge brings large but often overlooked fluxes of nutrients to coastal areas. @Barefoot_Lab and colleagues describe these fluxes and their global relevance in this Review. Free to read and download for a short time:

Our @osuearthscience hydrogeology class got a feel for doing well tests in the snow last week. Face masks not only helped us stay healthy but also warm.
