The hostages are multiple war crimes. There must be a public trial for the world to see, full disclosure, and severe punishment, for the sake of humanity.
Imagine: You are held in a dungeon for over a year. Tortured, starved, and barely kept alive. You survive for your wife and children. You make it out. Then you find out that your wife and children were murdered, and the world supported those who murdered them and tortured you.
