This tweet is disingenuous but reminds us there is a long way to go. Openbook is one area of strength for Solana DeFi, proving that a fully onchain, permissionless orderbook is possible. Orca has always been around and doing well as an AMM - but a CLOB is more than just an AMM.
Freeing Serum from its disgraced FTX overlords was an opportunity. The developers copied the code of Serum and created a “community fork.” It was supposed to offer new hope for DeFi. That hope has fizzled out.

.@m_schneider talked about this in our community call. As discussed, openbook will be working with hackathons to get building for openbook with community + foundation funding. Something like Gitcoin will officiate it more and make it ongoing, instead of on and off during hacks.
Think about it. @anchorlang provides an immense amount of value to the ecosystem, but doesn't/can't make money. The same can be said about @openbookdex now and countless other public goods. All of them could get supported by the ecosystem. We need this.
