@StellarEconomy MSTY is a different animal than MSTR. MSTY is an ETF utilizing a covered call strategy (pun intended) with the underlying MSTR equity

@Happyjuss All depends on your objective. If Capital appreciation is your main objective, then yes I agree with you. If cash flow in order to service the debt is, then that's different.

@thebitcoingal @theficouple This is a great point that @thebitcoingal makes. I'm actually in the residential remodeling business and I see very often how people confuse need with want. Not saying that's the case here, but oftentimes it's a matter of contentment. " Love grows best in little houses".

@btcdeliverance This is true, although the Bitcoin being held in custody is not re-hypothecated. There is some trust there, yes, but @hodlwithLedn has a solid history. I don't think it's fair to compare them with Celsius or Block-fi. Believe me, this has been my biggest concern in taking a loan

@Michael66895260 I think we're on the same page here. But I do think that the most pristine asset makes it the best to leverage, if done prudently. Also, with @hodlwithLedn, it's super easy and fast. Nothing like going through the loan process of a trad bank.

@BTCMSTRBULL You're right. I think that is questionable. Maybe a better way to put that is " for the foreseeable future". But if MSTR continues on its trajectory like we all think it will, then it's a very long runway

@Michael66895260 I think you're confusing the assessment and taking of risk with gambling. While they can be the same, they aren't necessarily. If managed properly, especially going into the peak of the cycle, I think monetizing held Bitcoin to acquire a cash flowing asset can be prudent

@DoggoBTC I've thought about this as well, but considering MSTR is much more volatile than straight up BTC (which is great), utilizing it as collateral is less efficient than BTC as long as the loan to value is low enough (50%). Also, using Ledn, no required payments for 12 months

@BtcForThePeople In MSTR heavy since November of 2020, I would normally agree with you, but my premise was to monetize Bitcoin without selling it and use MSTY for the purpose of servicing the debt and owning a cash flowing asset after the 1 year payoff. Just a thought experiment
