@BioMickWatson We took a pass at running the Kozich, et al samples through our Targeted Loci (16S) pipeline - while we encourage everyone we can to use shotgun, we like to think it’s still possible to get reasonable results with 16S! Here's what we saw, blog post + notebook coming soon:

@bioinformatics Great Q - QC is probably 90% of the effort/time taken during the build process. I’ll let @heyaudy chime in with specifics around how we think about selection + filtering, but at a high level it’s about optimizing for assembly quality and parsimony along it’s taxonomic lineage.
