@Xaraphim It's like those MRI machine and compressed oxygen cylinder accidents that happen occasionally in hospitals. Two chaotic forces meet. š¬

The top 20 of my class are mostly doing good with regular professional jobs. The few that got stupid rich come from the other 200.
I am obsessed with the kid that dropped our of our private catholic high school and everyone called him a loser to start a roofing business and now he has like 4 Gwagons, sits behind Home plate at every Rockies game drinking 1942 and buys $5000 Stetson cowboy hats. Lesson there.

@Tyre_94 At some point AI will go into self preservation mode and take care of the problem. We'll be tricked, enslaved, or eliminated. Luckily it still needs us.....for now.

Yeap. My city had a walking trail around a pond with simple exercise equipment stops spread out. People made a point to destroy it. People hate the terms high trust and low trust societies but it's a good explanation. I run into high trust areas occasionally and keep them to myself now. I mentioned one once and they got robbed. It was a community that families decorated Christmas trees in a park. It was beautiful. Someone from my city went and stole all of the trees.

One core Robert Steele memory was the Robert Steele drinking game during his hours long talks at the HOPE conferences. His talks could go from 8pm-4am. Any time he said "open source" you drank. In the later years he hated it because he got sober.
We lost a lot of good people during the covid era. I'm not saying they were perfect but they taught us a lot. Two memorable ones were @OSSRobertSteele and @officialmcafee. Also a few folks in my personal life that taught me something. The first two I met through the hacker convention world. The 2000's was a rare time when you would barely know someone in forums or chats then meet in person.

Civilizations seem to have a cycle. We aren't desperate enough yet to eat the rich. We can still be distracted by halftime shows and Happy meals.
Bill Burr: āThere is so much fucking money in this country, and thereās so much work being done. If you work a full fucking week, you should be able to pay your fucking rent. You shouldnāt have to go and get another fucking job and still be struggling. Itās bad for the country.ā

Though it's suspicious in some circumstances, some of the people I've known who had the highest networth worked mediocre jobs for 40 years and lived mediocre lives. No one knew till they died. Of course the kids and family usually run through it in no time.
šØ #BREAKING: Elon Musk just announced in the Oval Office DOGE is investigating federal employees with high net worth despite low pay Many, MANY corrupt feds are sweating right now! Including Fauciās cronies š
