@BellevueDoc Plan on writing about this soon. Not clear why amphetamine should be a schedule II drug, while benzos are schedule IV. Actually, amphetamine was originally schedule III (no quota) but moved in 1971. Some interesting history here. But hey, what do I know about drug law.

@Drug_Researcher The evidence for weightlifting and exercise for mental health is more robust (and cheaper!) than psychedelics. Also, we should be paying more attention to hormones as opposed to myopic focus on 5-HT, NMDA, etc.

"Substantially pure form" may not have been disclosed in prior art. But LSA to treat cluster headaches was definitely disclosed (e.g., clusterbusters)

@geraldposner @KevinSabet I think highly of your book, but nobody is rushing spend the money needed to do clinical trials of racemic. Hence, Spravato. Off-label use is pretty standard way to discover and grow new applications of medicine. As long as patients are informed of risks.

@RyanMarino This is such an idiotic take, it is hard to read. Drugs modify behavior and inhibition, sometimes removing the restraints holding back terrible impulses. Call that what you will, but drugs do make people do bad things from a causality standpoint.

@TheBorisLab Thanks for this. Very interesting study. This is my issue though: if these other anesthetics have antidepressant properties at the lower doses then it is hard to draw conclusions, right, except that other anesthetics may be as effective.
