Today is my birthday. So Happy 65th to me 4/9/59. Although my chemo schedule requires me to report today to prep for tomorrow, I'm determined to smile all the way there. I have a new look, though. But I won't show off my bald head today.

Another side effect of this chemo journey is that my hair is falling out in clumps. My greys (salt 'n' pepper) are all over the place. We are staring at each other. Not a joyful morning 🙃. Best to face reality, shave what's left off & embrace my new look

@FramkeMaria This is an area I'm interested in from the POV of Br W. Afr. My archival findings show that there were several Comfort Funds set up locally. For e.g., the Nig Troops Comfort Fund, which had an account at the Bank of BWA, WA Troops Comforts Fund etc.

Very Many Thanks to everyone who has escorted me on this journey. Today was 3/6 of fortnightly chemo 6-hour session. Spent time taking selfies to stay joyful, b4 I face the gruelling side effects. Wearing bright colours helps me too. Please keep me going.

1 side effect of chemo treatment is that it distorts the taste buds & food tastes v. off. After much trial & error with western food, I've settled on 🇳🇬n soups:Ogbono (Apon), Ewedu & Bitter leaf. They are my comfort foods morn, aftern & eve. chips too 😊

2/6 chemo infusion yesterday. I'm optimistic I'll get through this. I receive so much goodwill, strength, virtual hugs, love, best wishes, & prayers from across the globe. A powerful combo to keep me joyful. Pls keep it flowing. The archives await me. 🖋

On Chemo part 2, but still keeping hope alive. My archival research & detective work goes on as my strength allows. No double dose of drugs x 6 will deter #TayointheArchives & my 2nd vol of women's history won't languish on my laptop. Pls uphold me. Tx
