GPT-4 Omni feels like the beginning of a paradigm shift. It is the most _natural_ human computer interaction I've ever experienced. Voice and video are intuitive, fast and fun. The voice tone, cadence, and the way interruptions are handled feel like nothing else I've seen before.

Zooming out, we've come a long way since the invention of graphical UIs at Xerox PARC in the 70s. But, at the same time, the fundamental human computer interaction has not changed _that_ much. Typing and clicking on icons often remains the most convenient and efficient option.

Keep in mind this is a beta. We're optimizing for early access so we can iterate fast. There are limitations listed in the blog, such as low rate limits and no tool use. You can expect us to sprint very hard to fix those gaps, and drive down o1 price and latency.
