We need more unique house music events. Unique doesn't mean expensive or more production. Let's find interesting venues, do more daytime shows, involve other local artisans, offer mocktails. I cannot do the club forever, but I will always need the community.

When it comes to house and techno, I don’t want to be around any casual listeners. If it’s not a fuck yes, it’s a fuck no. Know what I mean? I wanna be around people who develop an appreciation for a DJs full artistry not just the one song they heard on tiktok.

Agents, labels, etc don’t want to discover talent anymore. They want pre-discovered talent. How can you be proud of a career you “build” from signing people who have already done the work w/o you? And let’s not even get into how fragile careers are that are built off vitality.

Obvi this in anecdotal but more and more I’m seeing confused kids in the club who just stand there awkwardly until they hear the ~*one*~ song they know from TT. then they whip out their phones and do selfie dance videos. 😢😫 ok tweeting this is raising my blood pressure.

Still will never get over the fact that @Mattel stole my likeness and acted like it was NBD. The pic of me on the left was taken in Jan of 2017 and reporter Barbie came out 11 months later. She even has the same shoes and is “thicker” than regular Barbie!

Have a neighbor situation thats too long to get into here. Two things: 1. She is insanely petty and doesn’t know how to have convos to resolve conflict 2. She hates house music. She’s also pregnant. She keeps up her act, her baby’s first words are gonna be rhyme dust.

My husband has worked nights in a restaurant our entire 7 years together. That ended last week. He went full time on his remodeling business. We’ve been listening to records, taking long walks, and started our lil book club called “Earning & Learning Book Club.” 🥲🥲🥲.

Please god NO I don’t want a DJ or celebrity’s take on anything political. It’s not their job to have a public opinion on every current event, and you demanding that from them is incredibly weird.
hot take but i believe we need to hold djs to the same standards we hold celebrities when it comes to spreading awareness about what is happening in palestine, their influence on the edm community is HUGE but i have yet to see a single one talk about what is happening.

Been seeing a lot about the DJ Mag list. I was a tv journalist for 5 years. I saw dead bodies. I covered traumatic trials. I helped uncover fraud. And I never won an Emmy. But lots of my colleagues did. Know why that doesn’t matter? Because no one assigns my value but me.

@norwood_sounds Nope. What makes house and techno clubs different than regular clubs is that people are there for the music - not for bottle service, flexing, and BS. It's a sacred space for people to release, heal trauma, dance, and appreciate art. Thats being threatened by casuals.

A few wks ago I requested a return from @Chewy since our baby was allergic to the food we ordered. Not only did they fully refund us (plus extra $) and said we could donate the food, but today I just got this incredible canvas in the mail. I’m in tears. Thank you Chewy. ♥️♥️♥️
