. This year the Czech Republic welcomed over 140,000 refugee children. Czech children, families and communities opened their classrooms, homes and hearts for children fleeing the war in Ukraine.

Šikana ani žádná forma násilí na dětech nemají ve společnosti místo. Děkujeme pane prezidente, že se zasazujete o důstojnost dětí a zastáváte jejich práv.
Odsuzuji šikanu, ponižování a násilí ve školách obecně. A v případě dítěte, které muselo opustit svoji zemi a přátele kvůli válce a kterému jsme nabídli bezpečné útočiště, je to zvlášť ostudné. Oceňuji reakci školy a rodičů i to, že došlo k omluvě. Šrámy na duši ale zůstanou.

An increased share (64%) of refugee children from Ukraine aged 6-14 can speak Czech in everyday situations, compared to 47% of refugees overall. This includes 21% of refugee children who can speak fluent Czech. Knowledge of Czech language is critical for inclusion in the society.
