So I’m not allowed to take my children to the park or a hike while we physically distance b/c I’ll b fined/stopped by police. But, Lecce/Ford expect special Ed staff to teach s’s in person without masks or vaccines?! This is no longer democracy. It’s a dictatorship. Zero Logic!!

I’m mandated to teach in person as a spec ed teacher. While it’s unsafe for all other teachers & s’s to go to school...it’s apparently safe for spec ed staff/students to meet in person. There is no child care available for my 5, 6 & 10 yr old. We are forced to burst our bubble.

I’m a spec ed teacher in a contained classroom. I successfully taught 20 out of 21 students online last week who were engaged. The other student can also learn online, but took a break. Bottom line, my s’s got an education last week, online, safely. What is the real agenda?

Today, St. Joan of Arc stood up for 🇺🇦. We wore blue & yellow attire & collected funds for Ukraine & its victims. Our hearts lit up as the entire school was flooded with the colours of blue & yellow. Donations will b accepted until Monday.

I agree. My jk/sk kids at home do not learn from a screen. They are hands on. In person learning is best & I want to return to class too, when it’s safe. This is why teachers should have been vaccinated yesterday & real safety measures should have been put into place b4 Sept.

SJA raised $3,155. 4 Ukraine. We have a couple of Ukrainian s’s…the compassion is unreal. When teachers went to classes to talk about war….s’s were in tears….some raised their hands & said they went through the same in their countries & could relate. End result, open dialogue.

Spec Ed staff have been in school every day of pandemic. We have been short staff…& when we do get cov…it’s an unqualified bus driver/lunch mon that has 0 clue of how to deal with s’s. It’s a liability…1 that ford accepts cuz of cheap labour. They pay them min wage…SHAME!!

Today, after writing on the board, I turned around & was pleasantly surprised to see this. Sometimes I get excited and speak quickly in class. Students & ERWs provided constructive criticism & I slowed my pace. Haven’t laughed like this in a long time. LOVE teaching them! 😀

Teddy Bear Scavenger Hunt on our street! Many houses on our street are placing stuffed animals in their windows for children to count while on walks. Today, we counted 57 stuffies! Everyday, there are more!
