The manner in which Indians have been deported from the United States in handcuffs on a military plane is an insult to the nation. The migrants are victims of circumstances and not criminals. They should be treated humanely. I urge Prime Minister Sh. @NarendraModi to take up this issue with the US govt and ensure Indians are not mistreated in this manner. It is also highly condemnable that Punjab chief minister @BhagwantMann has not launched any crackdown on notorious travel agents who have played with the lives of our enterprising Punjabis by transporting them to the US illegally. The parents of these migrants deserve compensation by penalising the travel agents.

The union budget 2025 misses out on inclusive development and concentrates on poll bound States ignoring large portions of the country, including Punjab. It has also imperiled the agrarian economy by not providing a legal guarantee on MSP nor waiving off farmer loans. It has also failed to come out with a comprehensive farm loan waiver which was needed across the country keeping in mind the distress in the agriculture sector. Punjabis were also looking forward to allocation of funds to make diversification a reality by incentivizing farmers for giving up paddy cultivation. The State is also in need of funds to revamp its canal irrigation system but has been denied the same. Youth and trade and industry have also been ignored with no push to generate employment or reform in GST collection.
