1/4 🇦🇺 Paid (foreign ?) actors have been funding a spate of anti-Semitic attacks in Australia 🧵 Since June, synagogues and Jewish delis have been burned and vandalized with messages such as, "Kill the Jews." Police count at least 15 major anti-Semitic incidents since the summer, including most recently a childcare center in a Jewish neighborhood of Sydney set on fire on January 21. They are investigating whether the crimes are being funded by overseas actors. "Some of these are being perpetrated by people who don’t have a particular issue, aren’t motivated by an ideology, but are paid actors," Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese confirmed last Wednesday. According to charging documents, one alleged arsonist text messaged his co-conspirators about a man code-named James: "I'm starting to think he sent us to the wrong place... Is he paying or nah?"
