@CutBackDavis69 @mattyglesias The government telling me I can't build a house on land I own unless I reserve 300+ sq ft for a vehicle I may not have: cool, based, extremely chill The government telling me I don't have to do that unless I want to: social engineering, literal communism

@NotoriousVij @the_transit_guy For a start, Cambridge should annex Somerville. They’re the same cities basically!

@BrownBrandon503 @briebriejoy He works in the government. It’s literally our business. I would like to know whether the people who apparently have the power to turn off any government payments they dislike are unrepentant bigots.

@jerelyt @ThomasLofton6 @Acyn Is it your view that Big Pharma exercises influence by having individuals who happen to work in pharma companies, let’s say in R&D, or marketing, go on to Act Blue and give small dollar donations to Elizabeth Warren? Is that your idea? Because that’s what’s actually happening.

@OsitaNwanevu Do you think this prediction has been borne out? If not, why not? "Cultural antagonism on the right will continue to drive middle-of-the-road Americans away, and progressive millennials and Gen-Zers will continue aging into the center of American politics and American life."

@GStanley71 @RollingPrez2390 @keithdorejel Yes if only we’d done let’s say a child tax credit, a massive green energy investment, pro-labor policy across the administration, and widespread student debt cancellation, people would have flocked to the Democratic Party.

@keithdorejel @JakeWallinger What work is “Obama era” supposed to do in this argument, other than remind people that they worked for the most popular politician of this century?

@goodforharriers @PedanticKilljoy @realchrisrufo @wanyeburkett “Total federal government outlays during pandemic”: ground truth that the American everyman knows instinctively. $5.2 trillion, a number bandied about at bars, auto shops “How much families earn, adjusted for inflation”: mystical number mattering only to pinheaded coastal elites

@goodforharriers @PedanticKilljoy @realchrisrufo @wanyeburkett What metric do you prefer to calculate real wages? Feel free to spam graphs at me, I’m not afraid.

@goodforharriers @PedanticKilljoy @realchrisrufo @wanyeburkett Also do you have an “on the ground” source to show me that the government “printed 30% of its growth”? Remember you’re not allowed to use graphs. I don’t make the rules.
