First, it isn’t snow. It is sleet & ice. Texas was not designed or built for winter weather at all. Also do not have proper infrastructure for ice/snow events - enough salt/sand trucks/plows. We have 1000s of elevated flyovers everywhere that quickly ice over.

As a kidney transplant patient, if the contrast causes me to go into rejection … be prepared to sedate me then need some mental health care. The idea of ending up on dialysis can send me into a panic attack (for real). I know it is going to happen, but still terrifies me.

Pre ACA was 10 years ago. 10 years ago, my house would be worth around 200K, today I could sell it close to 450K. So referencing pricing from 10 years ago is not going to be accurate or fair. And pre-ACA, I was uninsurable because of pre-existing condition (kidney transplant).

This is why I have anxiety about just leaving my house. Kidney tx pt, fully vaxxed but studies from JHU are not so great abt efficacy of vaccine in tx pts. In TX, no one is masking anywhere - vaxxed & unvaxxed. My freedom is being stolen from me over a wearing mask.

That personal choice to not wear a mask & get the vaccine affects my freedom. I am immunosuppressed bc of a kidney transplant (1 of the groups @ highest risk & potential lowest vaccine efficacy). I am still living in isolation, barely able to leave my house. I want freedom too.
