We have moved! New fire station 3 at 168 Kerr street is operational as of this afternoon. This new station replaces the old Central station at 125 Randall Street which opened in 1967. Our 125 Randall street location is now closed.

Today is the day for all Canadians to remember the men and women who served and sacrificed for our country. At 11:00 hrs. all OFD stations will observe a moment of silence. Apparatus and crews will be staged on the tarmac to honour our veterans.

Camp Molly is in honour of Molly Williams, the 1st female firefighter, an African American. A slave to a city merchant Molly was often at the fire stn where he volunteered. In 1818 Molly made a distinguished presence at a fire when many of the men were struck ill. She was Vol 11
OFD has partnered with Halton Regions Fire Depts and so we could bring Camp Molly to fruition. The camp will host 24 females btw 15-18 yrs Stay tuned for more info on how to register. Camp Molly committed to empowering the female youths of today through education and training
The recruits are practicing the "row" technique used in ice water rescue. In the "row" technique, the RDC (rapid deployment craft) is used to reach a victim and allows rescuers to bring them aboard to be rescued.
This winter, remember to treat all ice as unsafe ice.
Oakville Fire's future generation Firefighters braved the chilly morning to tour the Training Centre and learn about what it takes to pursue a career in fire services.
OFD Training Officer Paul Hollingshead has spent numerous hours enhancing his skills in rope rescue techniques these past several days. We are excited to have him bring his newly acquired skills back to our department
New Hi Rise equipment coming soon to every OFD front line truck. There has been alot of work by many of our staff to move this important change forward.

OFD couldn’t be prouder of our Oakville Fire Extrication Team and their accomplishments at the 2018 North American Vehicle Rescue Challenge in The team placed first in the Rapid extrication pit, Third in the unlimited tool usage pit and won the top medic award for patient care.
Well we are in our final week of recruit training and here is Bryan a former Town of Oakville employee who worked very hard to obtain all the requirements needed to become part of the Oakville Fire Family
The Ontario Fire Marshal, has confirmed hand sanitizer left in a hot vehicle will NOT spontaneously combust. However, they advise, containers should be sealed and kept in an upright position. Further, do not leave sanitizers in direct sunlight and follow product label warnings.
