@kellabyte the data does not have to be on the client - a multi-gigabyte data file could be accessible with the HTTP range requests (like the video file). Still not as efficient as client/server setups, but this eliminates the need of a complex server

The new @MapLibre Tile Format (MLT) talk by @mactremmel at #foss4g was just published. Lots of great info.

Includes my prototype to use a Rust dependency as part of MapLibre native build. Works on Linux too, but it can use some cmake/bazel love to build for all platforms. Any build experts?

A new issue with @overturemaps's #GERS IDs just surfaced. Due to their non-sequential generation, they cannot be efficiently compressed, e.g. in tiles -- taking up significant space compared with OSM IDs.
