Aubrey did NOT hit basil with the bat. She kicked him. You can see her leg raised here. Plus the Japanese SFX is a roundish“dosaa” which implies soft fall onto the grass.
If she really hit him, he’d be bleeding or breaking a bone but he’s fine in later panels.

i don’t know why people are so pressed about little details being less than perfect in manga. it’s so common even in big titles like jjk. does it affect the story??? you do realize it’s one person crunching dozens of pages by themselves a week/month right?????
but I didn't. I can understand the problems people have pointed out, such as some panels having weirdly drawn hands or limbs , but overall I think it was great! For one we got to see the hooligans- Maverik and all (though he doesn't have any dialogue)
