Hubie Brown was born in 1933. He joined the U.S. Army in 1955. Was an assistant coach at Duke University from 1968-1972 Was an assistant coach on a Bucks teams featuring Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson in 1972. He coached the Kentucky Colonels to an ABA championship in 1975. Was named NBA Coach of the Year in Atlanta in 1979. 26 years later, he won COY award again in 2004 with Memphis. He coach Kareem and Big O and Artis Gilmore and Dan Issel in the 70's, Bernard King in the 80's and Pau Gasol in the 00's. Oh and also became one of the most respected announcers in league history - and was on the mic for 18 NBA Finals series. Hubie Brown coached Oscar Robertson and called game featuring Victor Wembanyama. Think about that for a second.
