#SpotSpray Thought experiment for you about Dual Mode spot spraying. Being talked about lately. Single line PWM cover spray (all on), and you want an individual nozzle to apply a boost to a single weed. OK, seems simple right, just boost the duty cycle. Here is the HF. First you have to imagine that you are taking the boost nozzle out of the cover line, that leaves a gap (a missing nozzle), so first you have to calculate a new lower rate in the gap. Then the nozzle you plucked out has to have its spot rate calculated on nozzle angle and height. Then you add the rate for the single spot nozzle back to the lower rate in the gap in the cover line and behold, there is your boosted spot rate - Dave😊 Part of why you don't really get much in the way of a boost.

Here are the potential boosts with 80° nozzles; 8003 - 34% 8004 - 29% 8005 - 26% So just be aware, with a single line PWM dual mode spraying, the spot boost may be a little less than you think. Which is possibly why WEED-IT sprayers that do have a dual mode capability, also have a second set of nozzles for cover spraying. Dave 😊

@agriprof @SkyNewsAust Get that, oh for an all "Aussie first poli" who actually has power to do things here. I don't believe there is any chance of that at all in Aus with the entrenched uni-party state though. They have sealed their power. A tad skeptical about the Don too. Time will tell.

@MRobertsQLD Too late. The political class (not you) have abandoned us. Somewhere in between, disappointed, bewildered and disgusted. There are not enough Malcolms to tip the balance.

@agrobaz And then there is the weed height where wider angled nozzles cover taller inter nozzle targets when multiple nozzles engage. But then the wider the angle, the lesser the rate individually. All good fun.
