@klimakirken @nordic_bard @TuckerCarlson Because first thing Russia did after 24.02. was the total mobilization in DPR and LPR. These poorly trained, underequipped units were then spent as a cheap, expendable cannon-fodder, serving the same role that was later played by Shturm-Z prison troops.

Interesting. I have heard that since 2014, but I don't recall hearing about it before then. If so, that's insane for Europe because decentralizing Russia doesn't make the threat go away. It actually makes it much more difficult to predict and manage. Even before there was a Russia there was a threat from that region.

@FtwSte @TuckerCarlson Sure but a lot of demoralization propaganda involves relativizing things so much that people fail to even take their own side. I don't want to be like those people. Europeans have valid interests too.

@namor987 @FtwSte @TuckerCarlson Yes, but Zelensky did say they would after Biden got into office, and Biden being Biden, likely didn't say or do anything that would assuage that concern. There were still good reasons to doubt it, but it may not have been reasons the regime in Russia could understand.

@FtwSte @namor987 @TuckerCarlson I can certainly agree that Zelensky didn't handle the matter well. Putin's track record is also awful. There has to be a third option for governance beyond "muh democracy" and the system Russia and Belarus have.

The Chekists' POV is they have continued to lose influence in Europe since December 1991, including in Ukraine, and controlling Ukraine is particularly important to them for resources, people, access to trade routes, and military advantage over Europe. The things they have done to preserve and gain power have not had the effects they intended. Going to war always made it worse, but they don't have any other levers of control; natural resources alone didn't work, and cultural soft power would require reforms they're not willing to make. Now they're in a quagmire but they have to save face and control Ukraine, directly or indirectly or some combination thereof, in order to preserve their regime, which they earnestly believe Russia will perish without. I could also give you the Ukrainian POV if you like. My own POV is different.

@AnnaFromUA_YT They never really reformed after the Soviet times, so the fundamental problems are the same ones they had back then.

@thevivafrei It sounds like you are *in favor* of banning porn on X, as usually when people say that, what they mean is unsolicited images.

@Harry1T6 @michaeljknowles If they said that then they are very wrong. It's just ethnic cleansing.

@sirtemplemount @michaeljknowles I agree, if these European governments had any integrity they would wage war against Israel.

@michaeljknowles The game is if you don't care then Israel gets rid of them. But if you DO care, then Israel gets rid of them.

@TheClassicalCon @michaeljknowles There simply is no hypocrisy. Recognizing a Palestinian state means it's over there, not in your own country, and voicing a humanitarian concern does not mean those affected have to come halfway across the world to live in your country. That's retarded.
