Some people have suggested that Japanese devs don't really get the fact that the way internet is overseas is very different, and so rollback is vital. I tried to help them understand via the guilty gear strive feedback survey.

SF6 input lag tests (release). I would interpret these as being the same across all the current generation systems. Lack of VRR type support hampers input lag.

Going to take a bit longer before I've got long sets of data to report for PC KOF XV, but for now it's looking like about 33ms final average. Ultra low latency. Vsync - Use 3d settings. Window 1080 60hz. I will test further settings but not right now.

Uni2 input lag results. Video interrupt method. PS5 with vsync 56ms. PS4onPS5 with vsync 25ms. PS4onPS5 and PS5 with vsync off. Around 12ms! Maybe. Input lag with screen tearing is a nightmare. Might try to do a video on it tomorrow.

Soul Calibur VI input lag PS4 76ms X1 80ms Large amounts in fluctuation between sets. Also worth mentioning I was using the command history for this one, but from what I checked this is on the same frame as the start of the animation.

Put together my thoughts on VRR and 120hz settings on PS5. Looked at KOF XV, DNF Duel, Guilty Gear Strive. In summary. PS4 games on PS5. No settings have any effect. PS5 games. 120hz settings have no effect. VRR auto apply results in ~4ms penalty.

@TAJgarou @Brook Looked at Tekken 7. A simpler analysis, we just set two Kazuyas to standing 1 each other. From 130 trials there were 57 draws, 80 times P1 won and 25 times P2 won.

My goal for the year is an input test per day (on average) and to get over 3000 followers on twitter. Maybe to get a video with 1000 views (not counting digital foundry). We'll see.

Here's a thought. Given sf6 is on xsx/s ps4/ps5, if xsx/x has lower input lag why doesn't @Xbox advertise this fact. I would be willing to run the tests.

People often ask what 64 ms (for example) is in frames. Fighting generally/classically run at 60fps so each frame is 1000ms/60fps = 16.66ms long. So 64/16.66 is 3.84 frames.

Just played a quick set against @TAJgarou on ps5. Sfv t7 and samsho. Brook ufb and hori stick via generic usb hub at the front. Didn't notice any issues.

There is discussion at the moment regarding temperature affecting ps5 input lag. Could someone measure the temperature of a ps5 thought to be overheating at a tournament, please? I would suggest measuring at the back usb ports as this is where people have felt the effect is.

Trying to work out a way to test online lag in a similar way to how we've approached input lag. The setup I'm working with is two GPS modules connected to arduinos. When the PPS pin turns on, I turn on an optocoupler and turn on a button, whilst turning off a video signal.

Summary of my PS4 T7 input lag tests 1.08 119ms 1.03 114ms Release (1.01?) 120.1ms So 1.03 seemed slightly faster but inconsistent, 1.08 seemed to revert back to release day.

This is very complicated. In any event, it appears for games (not SF6) that don't tear, VRR off is the best for input lag on PS5. I might even try to record an explanation of what it all means.
