The idea that self plagiarism is some horrible act is nonsense. Why should we write the same methods section in 5 different ways? Don’t publish the same results or conceptual analysis multiple times. But the horror at reusing all prev work is prissy and not well thought through.

The thing about paternity leave is there isn't much for dad to do when the baby is a newborn, especially if mom is breastfeeding. His main role is to take care of mom as she recovers but of course that doesn't apply to Buttigieg so I'm not sure why he needs paternity leave at all

@UNCBlackCaucus Racism at the highest level makes Black faculty want to leave the Univeristy — and people are surprised? WTF. Fixing this is the job of the white university leaders who created this specific issue and all white faculty who maintain the deeper rails this rides on.

@dsquintana I’ll add a couple: -Be as courteous to journal reviewers as you would be to your dentist. No sane person pisses off their dentist. -Be collegial even if — especially if — the reviewer is rude or angry or contemptuous.

@tressiemcphd So these folks do anything to get what they want, purposefully undermine others’ goals and hurt them, and hold twisted beliefs that justify all this. I’d label it M for malevolent personality type but that’s just me.

Most times when I post about inequity and reducing harms to Black people, I lose a few followers. It’s an eye opener for sure about how we create and reinforce our social spaces. If anyone’s still not sure where we are at, #BlackLivesMatter #BLACKLIVESMATTER . Thank you.
