@DianaMHeath @AcademicChatter @ThePhDPlace They’re right! If you want to end up in a research career, showing research productivity will help you the most. Even if you don’t want a research career no one actually looks at your transcript that closely later. Read for your research topic, skim for classes

@DrCBBecker It’s upsetting when this happens. Thank goodness she had you next. Your presence will offset the harm the other person did. But I agree with you. If you’re not prepared to offer adequate sup, then get yourself prepared or don’t offer sup at all. Ugh

@El_GioRamos I've struggled with this too! I'm sure we all have. But the truth is some projects were never meant to lead to tangible outcomes/endpoints but to refined thinking & skills. The wisdom you often gain from "unfinished" projects is valuable & a complete outcome in itself

@JennCVeilleux @DianaMHeath @AcademicChatter @ThePhDPlace I agree! It’s really up to you. You won’t fall behind or not start off well just bc you didn’t learn R this summer or didn’t read more papers. Resting now can also protect you from future burnout when things do get hectic

AI doesn't have to replace human friendship, but it can supplement it & for some that will be incredibly useful, esp. amidst a loneliness epidemic. It's no diff than online communities, which have long served a purpose #AI #FutureTech
