Grandma hands me over this cute wooden box procured by her in the late 1940s from British Indian Calcutta. The box also has a leather pouch for glasses, a marriage certificate of her daughter and a khadi handkerchief from their wedding in the 50s. ♥️

Chandubi Lake was formed in 1897 during the devastating earthquake in Assam. Chandubi was a hilly area with five hills before 1897. The five hills had sunken into the ground during the earthquake and formed the lake.
