Why doesn’t the American bond market get more attention as an explanation of its economic advantage over India and many other European countries? Bank led financing (prone to centralization) vs bond market led (emergent and harder to control) financing is one of the starkest differences in capitalism.

@garrytan I don’t think we get novel discoveries or true out of distribution creativity if we continue on the smart-toaster path. Doesn’t mean we should change course, I just think there’s a clear trade off for humans to make.

Aren’t the best models/agents still limited by human prompting though? How do we know those connections don’t exist embedded deep within their vector space but nobody has asked the right question to unlock it? We wont get to discovery till we solve for open-endedness in models that pursue their own goals/curiosity

@dwarkesh_sp @EmmanuelMacron It’s easy to give platitudes about the future but ask him what Europeans could have done in the last two decades to be competitive with the U.S. on market dynamism

"A team including current and former employees of Musk assumed command of OPM on Jan. 20, the day Trump took office. They have moved sofa beds onto the fifth floor of the agency's headquarters, which contains the director's office and can only be accessed with a security badge or a security escort, one of the OPM employees said.... The sofa beds have been installed so the team can work around the clock, the employee said." RTRS
