Open source, hackathon, startup, and product enthusiast 🧠
Some small updates: became a successful 2x GSoC contributor in a row.
But this year's GSoC was a bit different for me than last year's, considering a few points 🧵👇
Career Update
I'm super excited to share that I joined as Software Engineer this month.
We're working on a couple of crazy products in the domain of Generative AI and other things, stay tuned for further updates.
Hey everyone,
I am super excited and happy to share that my proposal for the project "Music Blocks v4 Project Builder Integration" under
@sugar_labs
, has been accepted to Google Summer of Code 2023 🎉🚀

When did Google force someone to spend 100s of hours doing all of these? If someone doesn't have a passion for open-source, then it's better for him/her to stay away. Also, they have very limited slots, so it's not practically possible to accept all of the applicants.
Last week, it was super exciting and an honour to become part of
@hack4bengal
2.0, Eastern India's largest hackathon, as one of the judges and mentors.
Thrilled to announce that our team won 1000 USD (~82K INR) at
@Atlassian
's Codegeist 2022 Hackathon in the Most Valuable Storytelling category. 🥳
Cheers to
@abhra303
and Subhradeep for being amazing teammates. Thanks to
@XperienceWhiz
for helping and being with us as always. 🫶🏻

2.0! Brace yourself for an incredible opportunity to learn from a seasoned professional in the field of software engineering.🎉
@zenorocha
Hi
@zenorocha
, we have already created an open-source library for this purpose as a part of Google Summer of Code 2022. You can check it out here:
Feel free to add your suggestions
From staying awake all night to build hackathon projects in my college days, to staying awake and helping the participants to fix the bugs in their code and guide the teams to build better solutions, and then judging their solutions, it's been a long and amazing journey.
Last month, I participated in the `Code Night` hackathon organized by
@Square_Boat
and I'm delighted to announce that our team ended up as Runner-up after a 24-hour hackathon and pitching sprint.
A star on the project's GitHub repo will be appreciated! ⭐
Lastly, you can DM me if you have any queries related to development, hackathons, GSoC, or open-source in general; would love to help people get into these fields.
Need some help regarding International payments 🥲
I was searching for good alternatives to
@Wise
since they've significantly increased the charges for the business accounts, and one of my friends recommended

@virgojyoti02
Completely agree, but I always (and I think everyone should) follow the rule to not take loans or buy these expensive things if I can't afford them from my earnings.
Happiness after getting AC in Competitive Programming contests is fine
But have you ever experienced the `Happiness` after fixing the broken CI CD pipeline at 1:15 AM at night and it starts working smoothly 🥺
Here is the GSoC'22 project GitHub repo, we are in need of some stars 😀
Your one `star` on the repo will definitely add a lot of value to our efforts and hard work 😊
Like and retweets will help us to reach a wider audience 🚀

#OpenSource
What's next?
I'll continue building the open-source libraries and software, and also try to update the applications (hopefully this time) which are currently getting used by an overall 500+ active users.
I really hope no one falls into the same situation. But in the end, I can proudly say that they didn't become successful, and here's the result for them.
This is the perfect example of what open source and maintaining a proper GitHub profile can bring you to the table. 🤩
Start your open source journey right now. 🚀
I'll be more than happy to help, so feel free to drop me a message if you have any doubts or queries.
Note: Next.js 13 with Turbopack doesn't support Tailwind CSS out of the box.
It will still not work even if you follow the steps in the updated `Tailwind CSS with Next.js` documentation.
A thread with the solution 📃 (1/3)
In these 1.5 months of my GSoC journey, I've documented things through my blogs. In case you are interested to explore behind-the-scenes of the project work, then you can check out the blogs here:
But I tried my best to devote some time this summer to the Sugar Labs open-source community, and it was totally worth it. I still remember submitting the proposal on the last day and not even sleeping the previous two whole nights to complete it, and that too with a high fever.
Successfully submitted the hackathon project at the very last moment; at 11:58 PM while the deadline was 11:59 PM 🫡
Nothing can beat this excitement, anxiety and adrenaline rush 🥵
Finally, reached 100 Followers 🥺🎉
I know it's not a big number, but "Big things often have small beginnings" 😀

A few people tried their best to pull me down and stop me from doing good work; they did enough mental and physical torture throughout the entire June month that it took me almost half a month more to come out of that trauma.
Quick career update:
I marked my last day as Front-end Developer Intern at
@buildonscenes
a few days back.
It was really fun and exciting to work with the whole team.
Currently, I'm working full-time at a very early-stage startup, and we are pushing things very actively at a high velocity. So managing open-source work with a full-time job is pretty hard.
This summer, I worked with the
@sugar_labs
organization on their `Music Blocks (v4)` project as a Google Summer of Code contributor. I never imagined that I would come this far and change my life when I started learning coding and took it seriously in 2021.
@hayy_daiiya
I've already explained and shared with him the resources and useful links. The purpose of this post is to make others aware that there is a need for more awareness.
A big thanks to my mentors,
@meganindya_22
and Walter Bender, for their constant guidance and support.
Here is the final work report and accepted proposal for this year:

Shipped neoenv v1.3.0 🚀
v1.2.0(upper) vs v1.3.0(bottom)
- Compressed the package size by 70.25% from 36.3 kB to 10.8 kB
- Total build files reduced from 23 to 9
Do you want to know how I got these stats just by changing the build process, without changing the source code? 🤯
@drummatick
@Google
Rejection from GSoC doesn't mean the end of the career. He/she can apply again next year with improved proposals and contributions. Good developers and open-source contributors don't even require the GSoC tag, their contributions speak for themselves.
And the worst thing is, can't even DM them on Twitter since they're only allowing DMs from verified profiles, I mean seriously! 🤦🏻♂️

Today, I tried to create a new account by myself on their platform and the onboarding experience is soooo frustrating, I'm literally stuck right now due to some serious onboarding issues 🥲 (3/4)
@taniaban2712
Only if you've a strong foundational knowledge of Python (including some advanced concepts like Decorators and Classes). But I'll still suggest starting with the simple ones like Flask or FastAPI since they don't have lots of boilerplate code, unlike Django.
@shashan15454604
You don't need to understand the whole codebase from the very beginning. Start with beginner-friendly issues, understand where you need to make the changes, and gradually you'll get an overview of the code structure.
@tusharnankanii
Awesome idea and project Tushar 🔥
You can also check out an already existing extension (probably the best one for WhatsApp Web) which has lots of other super useful features including this one.
WA Web Plus for WhatsApp:
But that's not the end; we're looking forward to getting an excellent "Week rank" and need your support for that.
Sign up and give our app a try here: .
We look forward to hearing your feedback.
Now, you'll be able to access the environment variables based on your .env file in a type-safe way with some nice IntelliSense and autocomplete. 🤩
And guess what? It supports both JavaScript and TypeScript. 🎉
After a great learning experience at GSoC 2022 with
@SCoReLab_Org
, I'm looking forward to utilising this summer to the fullest with the open-source projects and community at
@sugar_labs
!

You can drop a star to the GitHub repo, it will definitely add a lot of value to the efforts and hard work
Also, neoenv is participating in hacktoberfest, feel free to add your contributions.
We've worked hard to make Hyper intuitive, efficient, and a game changer in the way you interact with data. Your feedback is invaluable to us as we strive to refine and enhance Hyper. We're eager to hear your thoughts, suggestions, and experiences.
I will post a detailed write-up on how I achieved these massive improvements and optimizations.
You can check neoenv here:
You can drop a star on the GitHub repo; it will definitely add a lot of value to the efforts and hard work:
• Different AI agents to execute multiple tasks and interact with the connected providers.
• Hyper continuously syncs your data sources to ensure contextually relevant and up-to-date responses.

I created a fresh Next.js v13 project with Turbopack and followed the steps in the Tailwind CSS docs to configure it.
But it wasn't working!
It took me half an hour to figure it out when the CLI gave me a warning after restarting the server for the 5th time :)

16GB RAM with 1TB SSD storage, also chose the 70W USB-C Power Adapter instead of the 35W Dual USB-C Port Power Adapter. Everything costs around 1.82 lakhs, including the UNiDAYS discount (paid 1k extra for the MagSafe Charging Case for the AirPods).
