@quattrofan Unfortunately it won't let me message you (??) but just to say that I don't actually have his details anymore as I lost a load of contacts when I left WDC early 2023. Perhaps try reaching out to them as I know they're still in touch with him. Hope you're successful.

π’ Have you visited the west coast of #Scotland? Did you see Risso's #dolphins & have any #photos? If so, you may be able to help us understand more about these magnificent #animals, working out where they go & who they hang out with! #citizenscience #photoid #conservationππ·π¬

This is happening under our watch! #Extinction is real and happening in front of our eyes. #Mothernature is crying out for help but governments are sadly not listening ... π’ππ #conservation #noplanetb #climatecatastrophe
πNew paper 'Global extinction of Slender-billed Curlew (Numenius tenuirostris)' indicates that there is a 96.0% probability the bird is extinct. Blog Full Paper @IBIS_journal @NHM_London @BirdLife_News @NaturalisBio #Naturalis

@SealScotland Where any designated MPA lacks associated management plans etc. it is nothing but a paper park with zero βprotectionβ β¦ so I guess Scotland has a lot of paper parks!!

π’ππ¬Our new publication is out! A Review of Small Cetacean hunts in #Greenland. Since 1993, 109,000+ individuals have been taken, some under quota, others not. We raise concerns over population declines, incl. #orca & #narwhal, & provide recommendations.

@AilsaMcL @MairiGougeon I'm very fearful that it won't be long before we see an exponential exploitation of krill in the North Atlantic.

Our obsession with #Omega3 is not only killing #whales but with the equivalent daily diet of #krill for around 150 humpback #whales regularly removed every day, their prey is also being depleted. How can anyone claim this to be a #sustainable fishery? ππ³

@AilsaMcL @NatureScot @ScotGovMarine @OuterHebs @HWDT_org Indeed it does. We've also been informed that there will be activity in the Minch 'every day' including 'live firing, simulated air bombardment, live naval gunfire support and helicopter operations' - oh and locals have been told to be aware of 'unexploded ordnance'!!!

Worrying findings point to a breakdown in nature's carbon sink. 'The amount of #carbon absorbed by land has temporarily collapsed' & '#oceans show signs of instability'. Mother Nature simply can't take any more of our abuse π’ππ³ππ #ClimateCatastrophe

@Livalab @NatureScot @HWDT_org @ScotGovFM @ScotGovMarine @alasdairallan Not that Iβm aware of but to be honest it could well have been active gear that caused this whales demise.

In #Scotland you may find what are known as 'dinky minke' #whales but this has to be one of the 'dinkiest minkes' I've ever seen! π³πβοΈ @HWDT_org @NatureScot

A new study shows that >80% of EU #MPAs are 'ineffective', leaving them far from reaching their 2030 #biodiversity targets. I'd be surprised if #Scotland fared any better, as most MPAs have no management plans nor protection mechanisms in place! π¬π’π³π π
