Nearly back on Skye from a round trip to Glasgow on Saturday, I received a red Aurora alert. As I was nearby I stopped at Eilean Donan Castle, however it wasn’t out at that point, so continued on to Loch Fada. It was as if the Aurora was trying to push open the clouds.

There was no sign of snow at the Quiraing yesterday morning, that was until after sunrise when it started to fall. Visibility dropped, however after the snow passed through, the landscape reappeared to reveal a dusting of snow on Cleat and the Trotternish Ridge.

A magical moment at the Quiraing last week. In the 7.5 years I have been on Skye and many visits I have made to this location, this is the first time I have had a rainbow in this direction. I had only between 5 and 10 minutes of light, however that didn't matter.
