#Monkeypox spreads through close contact such as kissing, cuddling, or touching parts of the body with monkeypox lesions (wound). The virus is not very contagious and does not spread in the same way as viruses such as flu and COVID-19. Read more here

#COVID19 UPDATE: This morning we reported that 2 deaths had occurred as a result of #COVID19 virus. The 1st patient was a 48 year old female who tested positive on the 23rd March 2020. She was suffering from pulmonary embolism. This means she had an underlying disease.

Her laboratory results have since been received at 17:20 and were confirmed negative. Her immediate family was also tested and they are also negative. She is therefore no longer considered a #COVID19 case. As such there is only 1 confirmed #COVID19 death in SA.
