As we get older, our body accumulates wear and tear, which then leads to breaking down of spongy tissues, known as discs. These discs can eventually bulge or lead to bone spurs around the joints of the spine. Cervical spondylosis is the medical term for this condition.

The spine degenerates with age, resulting in a herniated disc or bone spurs that restrict the spinal canal, causing spinal stenosis. This causes pain, numbness, or weakness by putting pressure on the spinal cord and spinal nerve roots.

The bones that make up the neck are called cervical vertebrae. Normal wear and tear lead to disc deterioration as we get older. This is aggravated by changes in the disc's blood vessels. Cervical stenosis, also known as cervical foraminal stenosis, results when this occurs.
