@atrupar A heartbreaking shift in American policy. There’s no longer morality in US hegemony. I felt we betrayed our principles when we waffled on Ukraine coming into NATO in 2008. Putin rattled a sabre and we cowered. Now this. Sadly, I’m certain it’ll get worse before it gets better.

@DaveIst3D @Asst_to_the_RM All true. But the challenge to senior leaders is taking a 10 pound crap into a 5 pound bag. Not enough funding for everything we are asked to do. So what will get funding, new hypersonic weapons, or ensuring cooks can fire enough to score above min standard? Can’t always do both.

A wholehearted agree. In 10-30 yrs we will see a world order we may not be enamored with, because we abdicated responsibility to positively influence. IMO our track record wasn’t the best, but on our worst day I think better and healthier for all, than the PRC.
You can't beat somethin' with nothin'. China has a trillion-dollar Belt & Road Initiative (BRI) to win influence around the world. USAID was already a fraction of BRI. Shutting down or reducing USAID would mean giving up, and letting China become the world's hegemon. Very imprudent.

Watching @FranceRugby v. England and appreciating they’ve still got collars on their shirts. Most clubs no longer do. Collars were a nice traditional part of Rugby culture. It would be great to see them make a comeback.
