So excited about the new Accelerated Career Diploma program being offered at North Springs next year! What a great option for students to be certified in a trade, graduate with a HS diploma, and an associate’s degree for FREE! Way to go FCS for creating this opportunity!

Thank you to Ms. Daniel and her AVID seniors for teaching CMS 8th graders about the importance of AVID in HS. These 3 were part of the inaugural AVID class at CMS! I’m so proud of them and their success as they prepare to head off to college! Full circle moment ❤️

What a treat it was to see AVID strategies in the elementary setting! They were learning about taking 2 & 3 column notes and kindergartens were participating in Philosophical Chairs! I can only imagine what an advantage they will have when they head off to middle school.
AVID Coordinators examined PSAT data, explored AVID Elementary, discussed recruitment strategies, & determined next steps to move their Site Teams forward in support of student success. The Coordinators have truly become a family, enhancing AVID for students across FCS!

As students prepare for midterms and reaching their semester one GPA goals they set for themselves, they are honing in on their note taking to improve their content retention and confidence! These notes make me so proud!

@CMShuskypride families are so generous! They make cash-in days possible! Students earn tickets throughout the tutorial process and other collaborative/rigorous activities. Today they get to cash in for fun rewards. #positivelearningenvironment #relationships

AVID students are experts at collaboration. Before putting their short-range, mid-range, and long-range goals, into writing, they spent time participating in a Team Huddle activity to allow time to process, articulate, and learn from one another.

Another phenomenal career speaker! Big thanks to Mr. Sam Carter, who took the day off from working on the set of Stranger Things, to teach AVID students about the artist in TV and movies career path. Those who asked higher level questions even got to take home an original mask!

Thank you Mr. Milley for being our 1st guest speaker of the year! We learned about his career as an engineer and now data scientist, as well as valuable life lessons for being a successful student. The kids got to experience data science in a Fantasy Football activity, too!

We are obsessed with focused note taking for learning ANYTHING. Sts demonstrated mastery by learning how to play BUNCO (7th) or a chosen life skill (8th). We had a blast using our notes & demonstrating phase 5, applying learning! They are going to thrive at FNT this year.
